Willie Penrose has thrown his hat into the ring for the post of the Labour Party's deputy leader.
The Westmeath TD, who is party environment spokesperson, says he wants to see a fairer tax and social security system, as well as better distribution of public resources to the disadvantaged.
He joins Joan Burton and Liz McManus in the race for deputy leader.
Meanwhile, Dun Laoghaire TD Eamon Gilmore yesterday became the fourth person to contest the race for Labour Leader.
He joins Deputy Leader Brendan Howlin, Finance Spokesperson Pat Rabbitte and deputy Roisin Shorthall.
