Plane lands in Tripoli to evacuate remaining Irish citizens

An Aer Corps Casa plane landed at Tripoli's main international airport this evening to evacuate the 70 or so Irish nationals seeking to leave Libya.

An Aer Corps Casa plane landed at Tripoli's main international airport this evening to evacuate the 70 or so Irish nationals seeking to leave Libya.

The plane landed shortly before 5pm.

Officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs are coordinating the evacuation.

Two Aer Corps planes flew to Malta overnight to assist the evacuation.
