Man to face court on terrorism charges

A 25-year-old Algerian man arrested in Northern Ireland for having suspected links with al-Qaida was today appearing in court on terrorism charges.

A 25-year-old Algerian man arrested in Northern Ireland for having suspected links with al-Qaida was today appearing in court on terrorism charges.

Abbas Boutrab was being charged with receiving instructions in the use of explosives, and the possession of items of use to terrorists and of documents of use to terrorists.

He was appearing in Laganside Court.

Boutrab was arrested at Maghaberry prison, Co Antrim, where he had been held along with five other immigration detainees for the past six months.
