Former Down player and Cavan Boss Liam Austin has entered the race to become Senior manager of Louth.

Former Down player and Cavan Boss Liam Austin has entered the race to become Senior manager of Louth.

Austin, who was also in the running for the Louth job 4 years ago, has been nominated by a club, ahead of tonight's 12 midnight deadline.

Paddy Clarke, whose just completed 4 years at the helm, remains favourite to continue in the job following wins over Tipperary and Offaly in the recent All-Ireland Qualifiers, however the presence of Austin in the list of potential candidates should made it interesting.
