Survey: ‘Women more likely to try to quit smoking’

Woman are almost twice as likely to try to give up smoking, according to a survey conducted by the Irish Cancer Society.

Woman are almost twice as likely to try to give up smoking, according to a survey conducted by the Irish Cancer Society.

35% of female smokers who responded to the survey said they had tried to quit, compared to 18% of male respondents.

The survey found smokers in the north and west of the country were most likely to try to quit the habit, while smokers in Dublin were least likely to do so.
