Jimmy Fortune is going to have a precautionary X-ray on his ankle following a fall at Newbury on Tuesday night.
Fortune was kicked when taking the tumble from First Post just over two furlongs out in a mile handicap.
His mount, which had been a chance ride, was brought down by Volatilis, who suffered a fatal injury.
“I’m a bit sore this morning and I’m going to have an X-ray on my ankle,” said Fortune. “The doctor last night said it was just soft tissue. It might still be that, but I’ve going have to a precautionary X-ray just to make sure.
“I’m not riding today. Hopefully I will see a specialist and I won’t know anything until I’ve done that.
“The horse in front of me fell and I had nowhere to go. I was getting a nice soft fall until I got kicked in the leg which was unfortunate.”
