The Taoiseach has said he will not be seeking the resignation of Dermot O'Leary from the Fianna Fail executive.

Mr Ahern said he was glad that Mr O'Leary had apologised for the difficulties caused by his request for special arrangements for Liam Lawlor and his wife at Dublin Airport.

He said the Fianna Fail activist had been elected by constituents and that it was up to them to remove him at the next executive election. He added that he now considers the matter closed.
