Gardai in Dublin have arrested a 15-year-old youth in connection with the deaths of two officers in a collision on the Stillorgan dual carriageway on Sunday morning.

Gardai in Dublin have arrested a 15-year-old youth in connection with the deaths of two officers in a collision on the Stillorgan dual carriageway on Sunday morning.

The boy was arrested in St James’ Hospital and taken to Blackrock Garda Station for questioning.

A second youngster whom the gardai also want to question remains in the hospital under police guard.

Today’s arrest comes after two Gardai, Anthony Tighe and Michael Padden, died when a stolen sports car collided with their patrol car at high speed early on Sunday morning.
