Ryanair is taking a case to the Supreme Court today seeking to defer a Labour Court hearing into a row between the airline and a number of pilots.

That hearing is due to go ahead tomorrow following a High Court ruling last month that an official trade dispute exists between the two sides.

Ryanair's lawyers are challenging the Labour Court's jurisdiction to hear the case and are trying to prevent it from going ahead pending the outcome of a full Supreme Court appeal.

A decision in the case is expected later today.
