Irish donor recipients compete in Transplant games

Twenty-four Irish athletes will be taking part in the European Transplant and Dialysis Games in Germany this weekend.

Twenty-four Irish athletes will be taking part in the European Transplant and Dialysis Games in Germany this weekend.

The Senior Irish team is made up of heart, liver, pancreas and kidney transplant recipients as well as three dialysis patients

A total of 141 kidney transplant operations were completed in Ireland last year.

Irish Team Manager Colin White said the games will highlight the benefits of organ donation.
