Troubled Co-op Dairygold is understood to have reached its target of 500 redundancies, without major compulsory layoffs.

Troubled Co-op Dairygold is understood to have reached its target of 500 redundancies, without major compulsory layoffs.

The company is releasing the workers before Christmas as part of a rationalisation plan aimed at bringing the firm back into profitability.

Dairygold is still in talks with unions about future plans for the co-op.
