Educate Together, an organisation established to promote educational integration, has called on the Government to set up more non-denominational schools.

The organisation, which is due to address the Oireachtas committee on education this morning, said thousands of families are currently sending their children to schools that they feel do not reflect or cherish their social, cultural or religious backgrounds.

Educate Together has called on the Government to establish a task force within the Department of Education to tackle the problem.
