This afternoon’s meeting at Newcastle is subject to the course passing a 10.30am inspection.
Gosforth Park officials must assess conditions after the overnight temperature dipped to minus-four degrees.
Clerk of the course James Armstrong said: “It was a lot colder than we were forecast but I’m pretty optimistic we will race.
“There was a similar frost on Monday which had gone by 10.30am.
“Temperatures today are set to rise to between eight and 10 degrees and that being the case, we should be OK.”
