Two still in custody after massive drugs haul in west Dublin

Gardaí in Dublin are continuing to question two people arrested yesterday in connection with Tuesday's massive drug seizure in the west of the country.

Gardaí in Dublin are continuing to question two people arrested yesterday in connection with Tuesday's massive drug seizure in the west of the country.

The man and woman, both in their 20s, were arrested in the Kilmainham area yesterday afternoon.

They are being held in connection with the seizure of 53kgs of heroin and 25kgs of herbal cannabis at an apartment in Clondalkin on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, gardaí in Cork also arrested a 28-year-old man following the seizure of 30,000 ecstasy tablets from a car in the city yesterday afternoon.

A substantial amount of cash was also recovered when officers stopped the car at around 4pm.
