Survey of insurance costs to be published
A survey on insurance costs by the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority should be published within the next few weeks.
The Oireachtas Committee on Enterprise and Small Business has been told that the report will increase transparency by making it easier to compare prices.
The Financial Services Regulator is issuing a set of recommendations for the sector.
A consumer helpline set up by the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority has handled around 4,000 calls in the seven months since its establishment.
Almost 40% relate to insurance matters, mainly motor insurance.
But other callers have queried travel insurance claims and the cost and availability of house insurance.
