Nine out of ten women over the age of 50 want Irish society to change its views about ageing, according to a survey carried out by the cosmetics manufacturer Dove.

Nine out of ten women over the age of 50 want Irish society to change its views about ageing, according to a survey carried out by the cosmetics manufacturer Dove.

The company says respondents to the survey believe ageing is often hidden rather than celebrated in Ireland and this needs to be reversed.

It says cosmetic surgery is not the answer to ageing to the media and advertising industries need to present more realistic images of women over the age of 50.
