The last of the families at the Woodland Park halting site in Co Louth are due to leave the site today.
Louth County Council said it took the decision to remove families from the Dundalk site over fire safety concerns.
Twenty-three families in total are being evicted from the site. The families say the alternative accommodation proposed by the council is unsuitable.
They say they are concerned about proposals to relocate them to halting sites outside of Dundalk, saying families will be split up and children will be too far from their schools.
Louth County Council is accommodating five families in B&Bs until Friday.
Local TD Gerry Adams said the families faced uncertainty about their future.
"The last of the families are being eveitced. Some are in rented accommodation, some are staying wth families (and) one or two are sleeping in the backs of cars," he said.
"Those who were told by the council that they would be able to show them what accommodatio there was, were then told there was no accommodation."
