Hollywood film-maker Oliver Stone is certain his new epic Alexander will receive a better reception from European movie critics than it did from their American counterparts.
The controversial director made his comments as he picked up a lifetime achievement award at the Stockholm International Film Festival in Sweden, after last week's Alexander US release was foreshadowed by dismal reviews.
Stone said: "I think one of the reasons I am being honoured here is Europeans tend to see me a little differently than they do in the US.
"Alexander was not an easy movie, but then I've never made easy movies."
