UCD manager Pete Mahon has hit back at Cork City manager Damien Richardson’s claim clubs like UCD are ruining the Premier Division.
Speaking after Friday’s scoreless draw with UCD, Richardson claimed that UCD are not of high enough standard saying: “I’m not being critical but we’re in the entertainment business and if we produce fare like that (0-0 draws) people wont be coming anymore.
“You have to understand where UCD are coming from and I don’t agree with a 12-team League – it’s going to produce more games like that.”
However, Mahon countered: “We had every bit as much of the play as they did and I thought we gave as much as we got. I think he was a bit disingenuous.”
