Following the Hollywood success of The Rock, another star from the world of wrestling, Triple H, has signed on for two high-profile action film roles.
“Wrestling has a tremendous storehouse for heroic action stars and Triple H has great sense of humour and a rare combination of accessibility and inherent nobility,” writer-director John Milius, who has cast him in a modern-day Western, Jornada del Meurte, tells the Hollywood Reporter.
Milius, who wrote Apocalypse Now, has written the film, about motorcycle gangs and drug trafficking, specifically for Triple H, whose real name is Michael Paul Levesque.
The wrestler is also due to co-star with Wesley Snipes in Blade: Trinity, the third installment of the Blade series, in which he will play a villain battling the heroic Blade.
