Will wants younger contestants on 'The Voice'
'The Voice' coach will.i.am wants the competition's age limit lowered.
The 38-year-old singer has called for the TV talent show to allow children as young as five to be lowered - despite the likes of Bruce Forsyth and fellow judge Jessie J attacking 'Britain's Got Talent' for their treatment of youngsters.
He told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: "I want to see them lower the age limit. I think we should taken children and their capabilities more seriously.
"It's not an issue for me if they're five or 25. Kids are on the internet doing silly things and amazing things and they're getting hundreds of millions of views."
The Black Eyed Peas star insisted the show needs to change - even if it means he gets cut from the judging panel.
He said: "I would be cool if they replaced me. I don't stress out. If they want to hit the refresh button I would just think I'd had a good time. I'd be judgmental on whoever they put in my place though."
will.i.am also called on the BBC to go back on their decision to cut the number of live shows, insisting they need to be "more risky".
He added: "I think it's a bad thing there aren't as many live shows. I prefer them. There's no edit so you can see people as they really are.
"I think the blind auditions should even be live. I would do it all live. It would be more risky."
