Congo is preparing for the burial of its late president, Laurent Kabila.
After lying in state for the past two days, Mr Kabila is due to be buried in the People's Palace in Kinshasa.
He was shot repeatedly last Tuesday by a bodyguard who was then himself killed, say government officials.
Troops from neighbouring Angola are arriving in the capital following fears that the ceremony could spark anti-Western sentiment, particularly against white foreigners.
"The white man is very bad. They don't want blacks to progress," said Vital Nutedika, 35, one of thousands of Congolese waiting to see Kabila's corpse yesterday. "Kabila has died because he said no to the white man."
Mr Kabila's son, Joseph, has taken over as president.
