Canadian defender Jim Brennan will miss Norwich’s game with Manchester City on Monday after he was ruled out for three weeks when he picked up an ankle injury in training.

However, Marc Edworthy is fit again after missing the game at Blackburn with a calf injury and he will replace Simon Charlton at right-back, with Charlton moving to his more familiar position at left-back in place of Adam Drury.

Leon McKenzie could also come in contention as Norwich go for goals and could partner Dean Ashton up front with Darren Huckerby playing on the left of midfield. Thomas Helveg is back in light training while Ian Henderson’s ankle injury is improving, althought neither will be fit on Monday.

Provisional squad: Green, Edworthy, Fleming, Doherty, Charlton, Stuart, Francis, Holt, Huckerby, McKenzie, Ashton, Drury, Mulryne, McVeigh, Jonson, Safri, Shackell, Gallacher.
