Motorists are being warned that parts of the M7 motorway in Limerick remain closed this evening following an earlier crash.

Motorists are being warned that parts of the M7 motorway in Limerick remain closed this evening following an earlier crash.

The scene has been preserved for an examination resulting in the motorway being closed northbound between Junction 29 Ballysimon and Junction 28 Castletroy.

Diversions are in place with motorists being diverted through Newcastle and Annacotty and back onto the M7 at Junction 28.

The west bound carriageway will remain open.

Traffic is busy in the area as a result.
