Soul legend Aretha Franklin credits Outkast with giving her a liking for hip-hop.

The Respect singer admits she shies away from most rap, because she doesn't appreciate the lyrics, but she enjoys listening to the work of Hey Ya! hitmakers Andre 3000 and Big Boi.

She says: "OutKast I really love. They just have great energy.

"A lot of the rap I really don't enjoy because of the content. I care what the lyrics say and a lot of it is too negative and derogatory."
