US marine killed in Western Iraq

An American marine was killed in action today in Anbar Province, a Sunni-dominated area west of Baghdad.

An American marine was killed in action today in Anbar Province, a Sunni-dominated area west of Baghdad.

The marine was conducting “security and stability operations” in the province, the military said.

As of today, 891 US service members have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq in March 2003.
