Are we there yet? Are we there yet? – a familiar refrain from backseat passengers everywhere.
Google has incorporated the running joke of road trips everywhere into the newest version of Google Maps for Android, with a heavy dollop of tongue-in-cheek humour.
As seen in the above video from Android Police, Maps will respond to the question: 'are we there yet?' with an arrival time estimate - the first time you ask.
If you bother her again while she's driving, you'll get a much more curt: 'no.'
Keep at it though, and
— she's had enough – "If you ask me again, we won't stop for ice cream!"Bravo. The trick works in turn-by-turn navigation mode on Android. iPhone users will have no such luck, as the iOS version doesn't have voice interaction in that mode.
A nice little trick for next time the kids are bothering you on the car journey – refer the question to a higher authority.
