Late strike breaks Bohs' hearts

Fahrudin Kuduzovic scored a dramatic late penalty to give Sligo Rovers the sweetest of wins over former boss Sean Connor on his first return to the Showgrounds tonight.

Kudozovic was tripped by Liam Burns inside the area with five minutes up in stoppage time and the Bosnian was coolness personified as he sent Brian Murphy the wrong way from the spot.

In a volatile game, Rovers had manager Paul Cook and assistant boss Gerry Carr sent from the dugout in separate incidents while Dublin referee Declan Hanney also booked 10 players - seven from Bohs and three from Sligo - in a very lively affair.

Still bitter at the way former boss Connor walked out on them three matches before the end of last season, the Rovers players were as well up for the task in hand as their fans and they started brightly, taking a deserved inside eight minutes.

Keith Foy's cross following a second corner came back off a post and Gavin Peers put the ball back across goal for Judge to swivel and turn it home from six yards.

Only a brave block by Jason McGuinness prevent Judge scoring again on 34 minutes as Rovers remained well on top.

But Bohs got back into it on 49 minutes when Sligoman Mark Rossiter slotted home a penalty after Glen Crowe had been pulled back by Seamus Coleman.

Connor could find himself in hot water with league chief after clenching both fists at Sligo fans in celebration.

Carr was dismissed from the bench minutes later for disputing a decision and he was then joined on 80 minutes by Cook for dissent towards a linesman.

But Kuzuovic won it for Rovers late on to send their biggest crowd of the season home happy.
