Paul McCartney's estranged wife Heather Mills faced a heckling crowd as she was introduced as a judge on the Miss USA 2008 pageant to a loud chorus of boos.
The former glamour model made her first public appearance since her divorce settlement from the former Beatle last month at the live TV contest which was held in Las Vegas on Friday night.
And the audience at the Planet Hollywood Hotel, on the city's famous strip, gave Mills a frosty reception, greeting her with boos and jeers as she took to the stage with hosts Donny and Marie Osmond.
But Mills insists she didn't let the public's reaction upset her.
She says: "I really enjoyed myself. It was a great contest. If there was some negative reaction, what can you do? There will always be some people like that."
The judging panel also included comedian Rob Schneider and U.S. Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard.
