Two industrial disputes in the Education sector accounted for more than half of all the days lost last year across all sectors.
In total, 44,015 days were lost to industrial disputes in 2014. That compares to just under 15,000 - 14,965 - the year before.
According to the CSO, there were 11 industrial disputes in 2014, involving 11 firms and almost 32,000 workers.
The two disputes in the Education sector accounted for 23,770 of the days lost.
