One of Ireland’s greatest sporting legends has paid tribute to a group of 72 inspirational Irish transplant and dialysis athletes who will be competing at major European Games in Dublin next month.
Former 5,000m world champion Eamonn Coghlan was out in support today for the Irish team, who come from all over Ireland and range in age from 18 to 72.
It is Ireland’s first time to host the European Transplant & Dialysis Games, which will welcome more than 350 athletes from 24 European countries to celebrate ‘the gift of life’.
