Iran’s top nuclear negotiator today called on the European Union, United States, Russia and others to give more time to address Iranian concerns over their nuclear package.
“I see no reason for being sceptical, we must allow more time for negotiations to work,” Ali Larijani told reporters after talks with EU negotiators.
“All matters must be discussed and all concerns must be addressed.”
He added that “ambiguities must be removed first in order to have serious talks,” but refused to elaborate on what those ambiguities were.
Larijani said Iran accepts “the outlook” in an international offer presented to Tehran, saying “Iran accepts 100%” that problems should be settled through negotiations.
“We should move step by step to reach our determined goal,” he said.
His comments after talks with EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana appeared to quash hopes that Tehran will give early notice on whether it accepted a six-nation offer of rewards and incentives in exchange for suspending suspect nuclear activity.
