The Irish Farmers Association has drawn up guidelines to safeguard the rights of farm workers from outside the EU.

The Irish Farmers Association has drawn up guidelines to safeguard the rights of farm workers from outside the EU.

Around 4,000 immigrants work in Ireland's agriculture industry, the bulk of them in horticulture.

IFA president Tom Parlon said such workers are vital to farming and should be protected against exploitation.
