The seasonally-adjusted volume of industrial production for manufacturing industries for the three-month period April to June 2004 was down 1.6% on the preceding three-month period, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
On an annual basis, production for all industries in June 2004 was 1.6% higher than in June 2003.
The Modern Sector, comprising a number of high-tech and chemical sectors, showed an annual increase in production
for June 2004 of 1.2%, while an increase of 2.7% was recorded in the Traditional sector.
Industrial turnover for manufacturing industries was up 8.3% in the three-month period April to June 2004, when compared with the preceding three-month period.
On an annual basis, turnover in June 2004 was 2.4% higher than in June 2003.
