Limerick's redeveloped Gaelic Grounds is to host its first matches next weekend.

The AIB Limerick senior hurling championship semi-finals are due to go ahead at the Ennis Road venue which has been redeveloped at a cost of €12m.

The Gaelic Grounds is now the third biggest GAA stadium in the country after Croke Park and Semple Stadium, Thurles.

The redevelopment work has seen the capacity of the stadium increase from 31,000 to 50,000.
