Man questioned over stabbing hospitalised

A 39-year-old man who was being questioned in relation to the death of another man on Aranmore Island has been transferred to hospital.

A 39-year-old man who was being questioned in relation to the death of another man on Aranmore Island has been transferred to hospital.

He is being treated for injuries sustained during an incident outside a pub on the island, and will be returned to custody when his condition improves.

A 19-year-old man died from his injuries at Letterkenny General Hospital, after being stabbed in the early hours of this morning.

A post mortem is due to be carried out on the young man's body tomorrow afternoon.
