Cannabis worth €200k seized in Cork

A man and a woman have been arrested following the seizure in Cork of cannabis worth an estimated €200,000.

A man and a woman have been arrested following the seizure in Cork of cannabis worth an estimated €200,000.

The drugs were discovered at approximately 2.15pm this afternoon when gardaí stopped a car on the South Ring Road in the city.

Gardaí said the car was stopped as part of an ongoing operation into organised criminal activity.

Both those detained are aged in their 30s and are being questioned under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act at the Bridewell Garda Station.
