The Scottish Premier League have written to Hearts following comments made by majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov.

The Scottish Premier League have written to Hearts following comments made by majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov.

Romanov allegedly accused Celtic and Rangers of “buying up” players during an interview with Russian magazine Futbol.

But he denies making the same accusation against Scottish referees, claiming those remarks were mistranslated.

An SPL spokesman told the Scottish Sun: “We have written to Hearts to look for further information following the comments attributed to Mr Romanov last Thursday.

“We will use that information to decide whether there has been a breach of SPL rules.”
