Killarney named as Best Kept Town

Killarney has been revealed as the winner of Ireland's Best Kept Town this afternoon.

Killarney has been revealed as the winner of Ireland's Best Kept Town this afternoon.

The competition, which is run on an All-Ireland basis, also saw the Co Kerry town named as Best Kept Large Town at the awards ceremony in Dublin Castle.

Presiding over the ceremony, Minister for the Environment John Gormley said the awards gave recognition and support to the concept of volunteerism.

Other winners named today were Tallanstown in Co Louth, which was named Best Village; Broughshane in Co Antrim, which won Best Small Town; and Letterkenny in Co Donegal, named as Best Large Urban Centre.
