A lone raider fled empty-handed today after an attempted robbery at a supermarket in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath.

A lone raider fled empty-handed today after an attempted robbery at a supermarket in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath.

A man wearing a helmet had attempted to collect cash at the Super Valu by posing as a Securicor worker, but he fled after a member of staff asked him for ID.

The raider made his getaway on a motorcycle in the direction of Dunsany.
