Transfer-listed Derry City midfielder Sean Friars has joined Irish League side Cliftonville.

The former Northern Ireland under-21 player was listed at the beginning of August after he returned to the Brandywell from a loan spell at eircom League first division side Finn Harps.

Friars, a former Ipswich Town player, must wait for international clearance before making his debut for Cliftonville but his new club are hopeful he will feature in tomorrow’s CIS Insurance Cup group tie against Limavady United.
