McCarthy: We've given ourselves a chance

Irish manager Mick McCarthy says Ireland have given themselves a real chance of qualifying from group D after their 1-1 draw with Germany.

Speaking directly after the final whistle Irish manager Mick McCarthy said:

"I think we've given them a good doing to be honest

"I said to them at half-time don't come without a fight. We have to take a chance, what's the point of coming here and going down without a fight.

"I'm delighted, we've still to go and play Saudi but we've given ourselves a chance haven't we?

"The fans were brilliant but the lads have given the fans something to shout about."
