A woman has appeared in court charged with the murder of her two-year-old son in south Dublin.
Hazel Waters of Ridge Hall, Ballybrack is accused of killing Hassan Khan at their home two days ago.
She was brought into court wearing dark clothing and a black coat - she also kept her head bowed during her short court appearance.
The toddler's body was found in their apartment at Ridge Hall in Ballybrack on Thursday afternoon.
A post mortem took place yesterday. The results of which have not been made known, but it is believed he was stabbed.
Hassan was the subject of a Child Rescue Ireland alert just two months ago and questions are now being asked of the support services he received following his safe return.
The court heard that Hazel Waters does not want to see a psychiatrist, but her solicitor feels it would be appropriate for her to be assessed.
She was has now been remanded in custody for a week.
