The Labour Party is seeking an urgent meeting with the Minister for Justice to discuss Government plans for a referendum on the powers of dismissal of judges.

The Labour Party is seeking an urgent meeting with the Minister for Justice to discuss Government plans for a referendum on the powers of dismissal of judges.

Labour's justice spokesman Brendan Howlin said its ludicrous the Government is trying to rush the proposals through the Oireachtas.

Mr Howlin said the measures proposed by the Government have already been rejected.
