Noel Meade will wait a while longer before taking the wraps off his exciting novice chase prospect Aran Concerto.
The dual Grade One-winning novice hurdler had been under consideration for a two-mile beginners’ chase at Punchestown on Wednesday, which has attracted an eyecatching entry including the likes of Forpadydeplasterer and Aranleigh.
However, Meade is resisting the temptation to rush him back and feels the seven-year-old will benefit from waiting a bit longer.
“I don’t think he’s going to run on Wednesday, I think we’ll wait another week,” said Meade.
“He’ll probably go to Navan, I would say, on Sunday week (November 9) instead.
“I think it looks like being a really good race on Wednesday as well so I’ll just give him a bit more time.”
Meade also had news of his Champion Hurdler contender Jered who is due to have his first start of the season this weekend.
“He’ll probably run in the North (Down Royal) this weekend in the Anglo Irish Bank Hurdle,” added Meade.
