A military police investigation is under way in Britain after a soldier was allegedly subjected to a sex attack by three servicemen at an Army base.

Officers from the Royal Military Police’s Special Investigation Branch are looking into claims that three male soldiers assaulted the male victim at Wattisham air station in Suffolk.

The alleged incident occurred as the victim lay sleeping in his room, the Sun reported.

A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: “As there is an ongoing investigation into this allegation it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.

“Action will be taken against all those who fall short of the Army’s high standards.”

Wattisham air station is home to 3 and 4 Regiment Army Air Corps.

Britain's Prince Harry, who has qualified as an Apache helicopter pilot, is stationed at the base but it is understood he was not there at the time.
