Ivan Connaughton’s lead in the Roscommon South Leitrim by-election has narrowed to 771 votes after the conclusion of the fourth count.

The Fianna Fáil candidate led Michael Fitzmaurice (Independent) by 1,114 votes after the first count.

Sinn Féin’s Martin Kenny remains in third place with 6,447 votes, followed by Fine Gael candidate Maura Hopkins on 6,075.
