Pop icon Madonna and director husband Guy Ritchie have hit out at claims their lifestyle is high maintenance and financially motivated.
The celebrity couple are sick of media snipes at their lavish country estate, expensive tastes and marital tensions.
Snatch director Ritchie professed: "Other than the fact that I like a country house, I can't think of anything I'd want to spend my money on."
And the couple insist they'd rather have a quite evening in a pub avoiding paparazzi than attend celebrity parties or exclusive restaurants.
The Like A Virgin singer and her husband have been married four-and-a-half years and claim their relationship is based on "normal man and wife stuff".
Ritchie said: "We're not unique. We're quite volatile as individuals, but that doesn't work exponentially when we are together. Relationships are about eating humble pie."
The golden couple also revealed they would like more children.
Ritchie enthuse: "I love fatherhood. I could bang on about kids forever."
