Francis Jeffers came off the bench to earn the penalty from which Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the table to five points with a hard-earned draw against Liverpool.

The visitors thought they had ended their worst league run in almost 50 years when Danny Murphy struck home his own spot-kick with 20 minutes remaining.

But former Everton striker Jeffers earned another spot-kick on 79 minutes, from which Thierry Henry equalised.
