There were reports of another trawler in difficulty off the South-east coast this evening.

The helicopter from Waterford Airport and the Rosslare lifeboat were dispatched to the scene after 'The Renegade' sent out a distress signal just after 5pm.

Earlier, diving operations at the location of the sunken fishing trawler - the Pere Charles - were called off and aren't expected to resume until the weekend.

The site of the wreckage has been identified, but divers weren't able to enter the boat because of structural damage caused to the vessel.
